Director of UX. Growing the practice and connecting design, engineering and AI-assisted delivery.
About Claudio Gomboli
The long way
round is the
point.

I’m Claudio. Italian, based in London, with a background in drawing, photography and code. These days I lead UX teams; making things is still part of who I am.
Working with me
I’m interested in what helps people do good work together.
Since 2018, my work has become less about designing every detail myself and more about building the team around it: hiring researchers and designers, supporting their development, and bringing UX into decisions early enough to matter.
My hands-on background still helps me connect design intent with implementation. Today that includes AI-assisted delivery, but the questions remain human: what problem are we solving, who needs to be involved, and how will we know it works?
See how that plays out in my work →Head of Product Design. Team growth, a design system and career frameworks.
Lead Designer → Head of UX. A distributed team of ten designers and managers across cloud, IoT and embedded products.
Product and interaction design across mobile travel, open source, developer tools, autonomous systems and IoT research.
Visual design, illustration, front-end work and branding. The hands-on foundation I still draw on when leading technical product teams.
I come from a family of painters, artists and art dealers. Long before product work, I was drawing, photographing and learning to make images - first with the limited palette of old computer screens, then through art, design and graphic studies.
That curiosity still runs alongside my professional work: in film photography, illustration, writing and small cultural projects across Turin, Osaka, Berlin and London.

Cerebrotempesta
I co-host Cerebrotempesta with Sergio, a cultural podcast made between London and Turin. We move freely between art, film, music, design and everyday obsessions.
In 2026 the project expanded into annoXanno, a weekly radio format that tells stories through one year at a time.
